CCS is excited to announce our newest product, the MERC-TAILGATOR! The quickest way to describe it is basically a “mobile command center in a box”. The small box or enclosure is divided into 3 compartments and the entire unit is designed to slide into a receiver on most standard vehicles for easy transport and deployment. The base of the unit has a hydraulic lifting system with 4 off road wheels with brakes and a pull handle that allow it to easily be connected to the receiver and then off loaded when you reach your destination. It can easily be moved around once deployed and repositioned for optimum reception capabilities.
The TAILGATOR has all the basic essentials for any command center: on board generator for power, 20 foot pneumatic mast for placing antennas and cameras in the air, climate controlled 21u four post IT rack for mounting electronics, LEO satellite for anywhere network connectivity, dual sim dual modem LTE/5g router with WiFi, battery back up system, Victron remote monitoring and diagnostics module, and an optional portable solar panel array that can provide power to the entire unit. Additional equipment can be added to make this unit a cellular tower on wheels, mobile radio repeater site with a JPS interoperability server, video cameras for local surveillance, and even drone deployment equipment. Add a small Zumro Air Shelter and you can even set up an adjacent work space area.
The small size and transport capabilities make this unit an excellent choice for any agency that does not want to have to tow a large trailer or drive a large mobile command center. It also makes it easier to do off-road deployments in hard to reach locations by simply attaching this to a 4-wheel drive vehicle’s receiver. The unit can be dropped, solar panels deployed, powered up and put online, and then left unattended for extended periods of time while still being able to remotely monitor it by utilizing the network connectivity and Victron equipment.
The MERC-TAILGATOR just adds to CCS’s full line of mobile command center trailers and vechiles we call “Mobile Emergency Response Centers”.
