The migration from the old GEO satellite network to the new LEO network continues at a pretty amazing pace. We just completed an upgrade for Bastrop County Texas OEM where we removed their AVL 1.2 Meter sat unit, iDirect modem, and AVL sat controller from their CCS MERC-Lite comms trailer and installed a new Kymeta U8 unit with a Dejero 6 sim router. Very clean install and our intial speed tests on the unit where showing close to 300 mbps down and 215 mbps up. Their old GEO unit was bringing down about 17 mbps and doing 5 mbps up. Bastrop uses the MERC-Lite to support their drone deployments for search and rescue operations so this additional bandwidth will greatly assist them in streaming their drone video back to their EOC.

Over the past 6 months CCS has shipped out and installed over 150 LEO satellites including Starlinks, Intellians, and Kymetas. On all of these installed we have used some form of LTE router to bond the satellite network with the LTE/5g network. These routers vary by customer but they include Peplink, Dejero, CradlePoint, and Sierra Wireless. These units support AT&T Commercial, AT&T FirstNet, T-Mobile, and Verizon. By bonding these networks together it provides the customer a layer of redudency and it also provides much great throughputs.
